This Moment Meme

Maggie says:
Feeling more m-pyrical than m-pyre today. Must be that 3 a.m. bedtime. Yawn. Here's some nonsense to share. M2? Everyone else?

1. Open the book nearest you to page 23. What is the fifth sentence on that page?
"The larger world perceives few differences among us, so our efforts to distinguish ourselves from each other only split us - they do not convince other people that our way is the right way."
- Stir it Up: Lessons in Community Organizing and Advocacy, Rinku Sen

2. What lyrics are you hearing at this moment?
When I see you sky as a kite
As high as I might
I can't get that high
The how you move
The way you burst the clouds
it makes me want to try
- The Cure, "High"

3. In your browser's list of blog links, what's the first blog? The fifth?
M-pyre's first, of course. Fifth is Duke City Fix.

4. The last person I spoke to was...
Moc

5. Right now, I'd rather be...
Sleeping

6. Later on, I'll be...
Having drinks and dinner at Pearl's with Marjorie, Mikaela, and the hottest new mom around, Miss Joann

1. A good sparkling wine, Arbois Mousseux, is made by the Method Champenoise from Chardonnay grapes.--Wine Lover's Companion

2. Look out of any window, any morning, any evening, any day.
Maybe the sun is shining, birds are singing,
No rain is falling from a heavy sky.
What do you want me to do, to do for you to see you through?
For this is all a dream we dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
--Box of Rain, by The Grateful Dead

3. Don't have a list of blogs.

4. J.D.

5. Well, doing what I'm doing now...because I ought to be working on something else.

1. "They concentrated more on sex roles, relationships, and family survival than expressive cultures."

2. "Love is the answer
At least for most of the questions in my heart
Why are we here and where do we go
And how come it's so hard
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing
It's always better when we're together"

3. My browser doesn't have a list of blogs (I'm not that techno-cool, wah!), but in my list of bookmarks, Albuquerque Interactive GIS is first, and Albuquerque/Bernalillo Public Library is fifth. SUCH a nerd!

Hey, Jessie. Musical ignoramus here.

Which is the version on Garden State?

I LOVE that song and would like all the versions I can get my hands on.

Maybe you'd be interested in making m-pyre an m-pyrical CD mix?

Huh? Huh? Wanna? Dontcha wanna?

Please?

Yep, that's the version. It's originally a Postal Service song, I believe (though I've never heard their version).
[soapbox]I'm very disappointed in Mr. Sam Beam right now for selling the song to M&M's. Now, I love sub-standard chocolate coated in crunchy food coloring just as much as the next gal, but I never pegged that particular sensitive male artist to sell out.[/soapbox]

Hmmm... mix CD. Perhaps we should get together to discuss music over, say, a pint or three to get me started...

Crazy's a bit of an understatement -- I hit 40 hrs on the clock this week by Wednesday evening. I do, however, have a real weekend all to myself (yahoo!). I have some tentative plans for the next few days, but nothing's been confirmed--how 'bout tonight or tomorrow? Do you have my number?
