- Iron & Wine and Calexico: In the Reins If you like Iron & Wine (I do) and you like Calexico (I do), give this collaboration a try. Each song is good for distinctly different reasons. It works, but unexpectedly so.
- The Grateful Dead: American Beauty I'm not a dead head - in fact this is the only album of theirs i have. But Box of Rain is incredible.
- X:Under the Big Black Sun Just great punk rock, with a poet on the mic, and a little bit of a country twang.

Hey, Marjorie! What do they judge for in chickens? I'm taking wild stabs at what the criteria might be, but coming up empty.
You know, plumpness, healthy feathers, all that...you know: overall eatability I guess! heck! I'll try to get a picture of the winning bird this time. I'm bummed out I can't find the photo from last year. You should have seen my proud little cousins holding their chickens in the circle. then there're the fat little piglets...talk about cute!
